Sod the knights Dave, show us that photo of the Buxsom Wenches again.

We've been to one or two of Daves dooveries and if you're in the area, they're really worth going along too. I'll never forget the nutter with the bow and arrow skewering the car tyre.

I showed my hubby the picture of the buxom wenches - he's got a heart condition and to be honest, did him good!

He says it's why pub's are closing all over the country cos of the lack of a buxom barmaid!  You didn't get that at the Duke William's recent beer festival event!
David Smith

Be fair, the nutter shooting the Range Rover was NOT at one of my events, that was at the rather nice Chetwynd Lavender Farm Medieval Fair.

He won't be at Northwich (or at Ragley Hall's Midlands History Festival either).

Now Team Falchion have decided to come and play, and I have decided that Sir Strelley de Sampson is going to be bubbled as the KIng's Wicked Tax Collector just after he takes to the Arena for the Sword Tourney, thereby ensuring he becomes VERY POPULAR as one of the knights being nominated to fight.

I'll probably have to compensate him with a beer!

We will also be joined by Thor Ewing and Anne Marie Summers as Wandering Minstrels - see http://squeake.co.uk/    Top Quality!

Did I mention that Ruth Moore Williams is going to be Mistress of Ceremonies? Teller of Stories, Maker of Music and Singer of Songs

This is shaping up to be a most classy medieval event!

I've always had a sneaking desire to dress up as a Knight   I reckon it would be bdooly good fun to spend a day like that
David Smith

Believe me, it is! Several years ago Roger Lankford who runs Lancaster's Armourie had Katrina Wood of Kat's Hats ( Hats for Toffs) make a costume for me as a gift. Minor nobleman, circa 1380. Although I'm not a re-enactor, how could I not wear it? Great fun! Sadly I'm too old and too sensible to go for a harness of plate and start hitting folk with swords...

I believe Bodger actually has a photograph somewhere.

Mostly at events that I am involved with I have to dress "sensibly" - if someone needs to find me, it would be a needle in a haystack looking for a bloke with a beard in a medieval costume. Easier to find the chap with the panama hat!

Looks like great fun thanks for the pictures

More pictures (from previous events, obviously!)

The sky in the last photo looked ominous

That was taken last August at the Midlands History Festival. It looked as though we were going to get soaked, but it all passed us by - floods in Birmingham, but we escaped.

This year's Midlands History Festival will be at Ragley Hall near Alcester over weekend of August 6th & 7th.

They would some great thing to come n see we have very small ones here we were in one once but it busted up and we moved away
David Smith

Well, that went quite well considering everything!

One of the high-lights was the Ya Raqs Eastern Dance Troupe teaching armoured Knights how to belly-dance....
