Nature's camouflage

What a fantastic thing nature's camouflage is.

Anyone know what bird liad these eggs?

Here's a clue, It has a orange bill, tipped with black.

Gareth

On the ground and in the open like that I am going to guess one of the Plover family

In the correct family, mate.......want to hazzard a guess as to which plover.

These were on the coastline to an inland fjord.
Gareth

I'm going to guess Ringed Plover but only because I know that species frequents salt marshes, beaches and the tide line.
Border

Spot on mate, they are  eggs from a Ringed Plover (in danish Stor Pręstekrave which translated means priest's collar)

We have thousands around the coast line, especially the pebble beaches.

In this image the eggs are very well camouflaged.
