My mum and dad didn't have one of these.

My mum and dad didn't have one of these when I was a little kid but we did have a Morris Minor. On this day in 1930 Morris Cars announced the arrival of the Morris Major costing 215.

An indelable memory of our black Morris Minor, was a family holiday in Devon and the black smoke that piled out of the lumpy bit in the middle where the gear stick was, as we went up Porlock Hill.

A lot of modern cars still have exactly the same problem going up Porlock Hill!

We had a brake failure in a landrover going DOWN Porlock Hill!!         Lived to tell the tale thanks to the skill of the driver. We were checking all the checkpoints prior to the Golden Horsehoe ride the following day, and our narrow escape was even reported in Horse and Hound.

My mum and dad had a Morris Minor. It was dad's first car and the reg was BRR 123
His mate had a Traveller.

My Dad's first car was a Ford Anglia. Posh or what?
HonkHonk

My first car was a Triumph Herald, I think it was about 23yrs old when I got it, messed about a bit with it and got it through it's M.O.T.

I was seeing this girl at the time and her dad said he wouldn't be too happy with his daughter travelling around in it.

So I borrowed my dad's car to pick her up from work one night and crashed the bdooly thing, resulting in me having to sell mine to pay for the damage to my dad's

At least I got a good return for it - cost me a tenner and sold it for 150.

My first car was what Dad called "Four Wheels and a Board" -

I had a little red Ford Escort and it broke my heart when the Prop Shaft went.
