Museum of Lincolnshire Life

Sorry, no pics....I'm pretty crap!

Went today and spent a pleasant hour and a half looking around this free (amazing!) place that's not too far away from the castle.

It paints a good picture of victorian home life, agriculture, wartime and military aspects of Lincolnshire.

There is also The Collection, down the hill, near the Usher Gallery (free as well!) which we are going to again next week as they have an exhibition of Medieval torture instruments on for a short while! This museum concentrates on even further back, bronze and iron age etc, along with the Roman occupation of Lindum Colonia..

Worth a visit if you ever here, alongside Bailgate, the cathedral and castle, Lincoln isn't a bad place to come and see

I could even help out with accommodation, if you don't mind a sofa bed.

..oh, I might add, you get the history of the birthplace of the tank, and giant engineering firms such as Ruston Bucyrus, Fosters, Hornby etc etc...all long gone now of course. Where they used to test the tank on Fosters Fields, a retail park now stands in its place....

Tsk.....

The link to the website with more info!

Been there and done it! Lovely place. OH's grandad used to work at the iron foundry near the Brayford Pool. The steam engines he helped make the bits for are in the museum. Love Lizzie
