mink

what is the best way to get rid off them.in the last week or two ,the as been reports ,of young sheep,chickens been killed by the little monsters ,i lost a few chooks myself.they are really taking over the countryside in lreland.they are a non native.

Snaring, trapping or cage trapping are the proven methods. Mk 6 Fenns from Fourteenacre, Magnum body grips, or snares.

They are fairly easy to trap, the only thing is that they've usually done a bit of damage before you realise that you have some around.

I had a mink that took out 35 pheasants one month. I had to get a special permit to catch and destroy since it was out of season for hunting and trapping.

I can't fined the picture.

They are an introduced species here Steve. They are actually North American Mink from our now defunct fur industry. Initially they either escaped from fur farms or were released by animal rights activists. Mink in the UK are an absolute menace and have decimated some of native animal species.

They are classed as vermin here in th UK ; so no closed season.  :shooter:
