dad uses a 35x not a problem for the last 20+ years but this year has been stripped down for a rebuild.

he uses it for mucking out the cattle barns, milling the pig, cattle & chicken food as well as cutting his paddocks.

he also has a mf135 fully restored just for the shows it can sit there for 12 months and still starts first time.

this is what this is a 35x 1959 so it says on the v5 it was rebuilt and made to show standard kept in garage etc started 1st time every time but now its being worked it seams not to like it lol it had trouble with fuel so new filter etc last mth now i think its same im just wondering if i do a rebuild as i got loads of time i can do a head gasket in an hr so engine out stripped  head skimmed fully rebuild it in a week. it may be a better option in the long run is my thinking.

if you have got the time well worth doing imo.

we are lucky we have tractors at our disposal from 3 or 4 local farmers so dad can do his at his own pace, mind it has to be a mf to fit is pto to the mill

These guys http://www.advtc.co.uk/ seem to have loads of them, great seeing their convoys snaking round the Peak District (with a good sized collection of tourists in their wake     )

if you thik you have a fuel problem have you checked the tank filter on the fuel tap and are the fuel lines clear? sometimes you can get a blockage at a pipe union.
these are probably one of the most reliable tractors available, just see how many are still in use.
most parts are availablle from MF or people like vapourmatic.

i thought whatyou just said but did not realise until you said it if that makes sense as he had crap in the tank took the tank off drained etc let it air out and tipped all the papery crud out job done. what was not done was  blow the system through while everything was off so my guessing now it had gone through the system cased the breakdown last time sorted the problem but as it was not done properly it is back to square 1 with it in the pipes
