Meet my Echium Tree

He's the one on the left, he won't flower until next year but then he will produce spikes of blue flowers up to 4 metres tall  Unfortunatley he will then die    but will have produced loads of seeds which can be propogated to continue with Echiums year after year.
The 'grown up' that we saw at the garden centre today was very impressive

I hope you do not live to regret having an Echium plant in your garden
My son and I each brought plants home from the Scilly Isles
about 10 yrs ago they were fantastic and grew to 20 plus feet and duly spread their seed and we had echium plants growing between the cobbles in the back lane for years
Each year I think thats all clear now only to find one popping up somewhere,

We had one - it grew to 15ft in a year and then died in a cold witer before flowering. It had a trunk on it like a pine tree!! Love Lizzie

With a bit of luck, there could be some free OTG seeds flying about next year.
