Marmalade time again

Any Seville oranges around in your area? What price are they?

I'm off on the hunt today, but we don't have an independent greengrocer for miles and most supermarkets round here don't have them.
Gareth

Last Friday night one of the organisers of Norwich Foodcycle came down to Jurnets bar looking for me and gave me free of charge 12kg of Seville Oranges that had been donated to them

Blimey! that's about 70 jars of marmalade. Lucky you

Lucky you Gareth! I have made 2 lots so far but as i bought them with my other veg i didnt register what they cost. Might have to go and get some more before they go as my youngest daughter commented "oh goodie, decent marmalade again!"

It's a dreary day here in Cumbria so I'm happy to be making Seville Marmalade this morning - there's orangey!
Seabird

You're ahead of me Mo. I got my oranges in the week but they're still sitting on the kitchen worktop.  I intended to do them yesterday, but went to see the Bolshoi instead. (No, not Moscow, but the live screening at our local cinema - very good too!)

Marmalade tomorrow....... I find the most tedious part is collecting and cleaning all the jars!
Mo

Agreed - I had to stumble about the loft to find my jars

I have a few oranges left. Planning to make Orange Curd and dry the peel for use in other things.

Ive made one lot so far (left it abit too long and its now very sticky) but have bought some more to make batch number 2. Probably do an orange and ginger one this time.

Also made some over the festive season but used Pomelos instead. Very nice and alot milder flavour than usual
