Living History?

I've been wondering whether or not  creating a new section for the forum called living history might be a good idea? Lets face it, most of us are knocking on a bit and I bet that many of us still use old tools and equipment in our hobbies and pass times that really belong to a bye gone era.
I think it might be interesting. People would take the time to introduce these items to the other members, explain what it does and perhaps why they are still using it in the 21st century. The bits of kit could be from the kitchen, the garden, hunting and fishing, and just about from anywhere.
What do you think, does the idea have merit and would you take an interest in a news section along these lines?

Sounds a great idea. Although I'll have a hard time persuading Tim the tools he ( and his father, grandfather and beyond) use aren't the latest 'thing' and would fit into this category

Don't forget that 20.00 note that you still have in your wallet Joe, you could tell us about that.

I've been looking at this today.

Does this count?
I still use Perl to code my websites (I was told in the 1990s that it was an obsolete language) but it still works fine for me.
