Lidls heads up: Water Butt Pump from 30th April 2012

This is the pump that we have been talking about in another thread:

Although with all the current rain we are having at the moment, it would probably be better used to pump the water off the gardens and into the drains so we can all get on and do the necessary stuff required in our veg patches, lawns and flower borders.

Could you adapt this to use to pump water from a rain barrell to the toilet cistern?
Gareth

Is the toilet cistern in a ground floor toilet, or on the first floor?

If it is on the ground floor, Why not lift the water barrel up on a stand so that it is above the height of the cistern, and let gravity do the work through a standard ball cock valve.

ground floor.

We had thought of putting the water butt on blocks to raise the top of the butt to just over the height of the cistern through the wall, this way using the pump just to really use the water as the level dropped in the butt.
