Lidl Gardening Gear Special

Another excellent offer from Lidls again: and at 9.99 each I can personally recommend both the long handle stainless steel garden spade and garden fork.

Lois also likes the plastic plant clips, and we have a couple of hundred of them.

Thanks Gareth, I've got one of the long handled spades too and live in fear of it ever breaking (not that it shows any sign of doing so). For a tenner I'll put one away as a spare. Excellent piece of kit

Yes I agree 100% , I enjoy using the longer handled spade , makes life so much easier.

We too have 2 of the log handled spade & they did stirling work in the snow a few years back & are used for mucking out all the time now. Next week is Lidl shopping day for us so I'll take a look. Is the fork up to heavy work I wonder? I've promised Carol her own fork for ages & would have liked to gift wrap one for Valentines. Maybe belated gift - I spoil that girl!!

The Lidl long handle garden fork is as good as any other I have owned (1980's Spear & Jackson and Bulldog), and better than most I have used belonging to other people (Wilko, B&Q, Roughneck, Silverline, Faithfull and even Burgon & Ball).

I am a really big fan of long handled tools, and especially on garden tools but you may find it a little awkward at first until you get use to it.

But when you do buy one please be more careful than I was in the store. Someone called me and as I answered my phone, without thinking I turned a corner and took out a shelf of pasta sauce jars with the spades long handle..... suffice to say that Lois left me there on my own to explain that one to the store manager.

when we nipped around Aldi to buy groceries this afternoon I purchased one of the bulb planters for the princely sum of 1.99.

It may prove very useful throughout this growing season for general planting duties including seed potatoes, but it will have to wait until the Autumn for my local guerilla gardening bulb planting.... up until now it has been a case of ... ... ...

... ... ... ... ... What me, stood in Lionwood with my dibber in my hand. With my reputation? Has no one thought of the consequences?

picked up the very last fork from Camarthen Lidl on Sunday - very sturdy it seems too
