Leeks

3 rows of leeks dug just now not fat but long, crow bar made holes.
Dibber no use on this land (clay)

Snow going  3" less than yesterday.
Wilder

Just how I like them - nice and long with lots of white!  Ideal for leek and potato soup.

Sadly ours are shorter and fatter, and seem to have suffered in the cold, wet and snow.  When I dug one up today water came out of the end where it had frozen and then defrosted.

They look good to me
12Bore

They look good, just the right size to wrap in ham and pancakes, then smother with cheese sauce

As already said, they look good...

Can't wait to get going this season....slowly thumbing all the seed catalogues till they are pictureless     still it will be Spring soon..

I agree I can't wait to get going, I wish it would dry up. I usually set early potatoes in the greenhouse on the first of Feb  but its like a swamp.

Swamp...being the under statement at the moment....to be honest..frustrated...and now they are predicting  eeer! more snow  = more water....Whats to follow?...wetter ground.....200 blocks to lay...some chance!

Hey!  thats why we battle on....

It will be done..................reguardless...
Christine

Our council are a friendly lot and they issue large hession type nylon  bags for you to put garden waste in so it is easier for you to take to the tip yours might do the same then i go to a commercial agricultural plant grower and get a 6*4 trailer of used peat for a tenner i then fill the bags and plant my early potatoesin usually three to a bag these i put in the poly and then move them outside when i need the poly .My piece is like a swamp at this time of year

We have a large Mushroom factory about 15Km away so can pick up on way past great stuff.
