lavender lip balm

Finally got around to making some lip balm today, really chuffed with how simple it is and also how nice it is.  bought some jars a couple of weeks ago.  Guess what everyone will be having for christmas!

Think i will put a little more lavender in it next time though.

Sounds good mel, can you other stuff apart from lavender?
Mo

Sounds lovely. I bought some Manx beeswax Lip Balm from a lovely lady in the IOM.
It's light but lasting and I love it.
Lavender sounds good

not very exciting the pics but will take some anyway, going to try this recipe next i think

Luscious Lavender Lip Balm Recipe
•4 Tbsp , almond, or olive oil
•1 Tbsp grated beeswax or beeswax pearls
•1 tsp honey
•1/4 tsp vitamin E oil (or 3 punctured, squeezed out liquid vitamin E capsules)
•7 drops lavender essential oil (or other essential oil)
•1 tsp cocoa powder (optional)
•1 tsp colored, natural lipstick (optional, if you want it to have a hint of color)

Warm the oils, beeswax and honey in a small, stainless steel pot or bowl. Be sure to warm it on VERY low heat. (You can use a double boiler, if you’d like.) Stir until the beeswax is completely melted. Remove from heat and quickly whisk in the essential oil, vitamin E, cocoa powder, and colored lipstick. Place the bottom of the bowl into a shallow pan of ice water and continue whisking quickly as you add the honey. Once the honey is incorporated, quickly transfer the balm into your lip balm container (tube or tin) and allow to set for 3 hours

Thanks for the recipe
milkermel

well i tried the recipe above and am having a little problem with it, the shrinkage when it  cools doesnt make it look as nice as the simple one i did first.

So for a basic but looks good recipe

try this

2tbs coconut or olive oil
15ml 1tbsp of bees wax
4 drops lavender oil
vit e capsule.

Add everything together then add vit e -about 1/4 tsp.

put into jars

may try this with the little bit of coco powder for colour

I'll have to give it a go!
