Last chance saloon with Welsummers

We I've had some bad luck with Welsummers over the last few years, between fox attacks, cockerels having heart attacks and poor hatches.
Which has left me with only a few hens of my own breeding and 2 from Sandra

Now I tried a cockerel from a local show breeder last year ( he shows his birds and eggs both of which are stunning) and it ended badly.

So I am trying again and this is the young cockerel I am trying again with.

He's still a bit flighty and won't stand still for a picture, ha.

Best of luck Dave.

Thanks John, I know the pics aren't the best but he's a real handsome lad

So fingers crossed.

Good luck, he looks a good size and nice colouring.

I've managed to get back on track with the Partridge Welsummer after the fox attack. I've completely lost my Gold Duckwing though and am struggling with my Exchequer Leghorns.

As always Bodgers Light Sussex are doing well, some smashing off spring this year.

What's the problem with the Leghorns? The alternative for you, are my Ancona's. I really can't praise them enough.  I wasn't sure about having them but they've turned out to be really good and to be honest, I cant see much difference between them and the exchequers.
