Job done

I've just managed to sell seven of my last litter of piglets for 35.00 each. Its not massive money but in todays pig market, I'm pretty pleased.
I plucked a figure out of the air and decided to retain four of them which will be ready for the chop at the beginning of June.

Sounds about right, I paid 45 for GOS wearers last year and the price has gone down this year. I think it's almost a case of take what you can get

I've been giving some thought to putting my GOS's to a white boar to produce white piglets but I don't think I'd be much better off, if at all.

Welsh white cross gives a nice animal, Ive had them a few times, not as prone to fat as the GOS with a longer back

The place that's having them from me,  had that litter I had using the Welsh boar to my GOS gilt. He was very complimentary about them.
