We get Roe's but Reds must be fantastic

We're out in the sticks surrounded by forestry but live in what must be the few deer free areas in the country.

They are stunning animals especially when they are fully antlered - those to are still in velvet - and of course we have a lot of them - Exmoor has the highest population of Red deer in the UK second only to Scotland - and we are not far behind so we are used to seeing them all the time - nearly got knocked off the quad by one one October - a split second earlier and we would both have been dead as it literally had to jump over the bonnet

Nice pic- I bet you could get a lot of interest from deer hunters willing to pay.
debbie

well, they wouldn't have to do much stalking - we have the 7 that like to graze our top field and that lay up in our woods at night then these two are new to us.  As much as i moan about my loss of grass i do like to see them they are stunning animals, but we leave it to the hunt to take out those animals that need culling - hence only 7 in our top field and not the 8 we have had for the last few years. and yes, quite a bit of venison comes our way
