I'd be interesed in your opinions....

I'd be very interested to know what you think of this new website:

http://uktrapper.tripod.com/index.html

I'm not putting it up here to advertise, but you guys would be part of the target market, so your opinions will be interesting.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Hi, Matt. Not masses to look at there yet, but off to a good start. I'd have been even more impressed if it hadn't automatically also loaded secondary advertising software onto my screen though. :smt064

Sorry about that Lloyd; its google advertising, which comes with the site at present.  It will only be on the webpage, not downloaded to your computer.

What did you think about the products and prices?  The forum is just added on out of interest.

Keep the comments coming.  Thanks.
Lloyd

I can't comment on products and prices as trapping isn't my thing, but keep updating the site and updating us so we can pop in and look!

Sorry but thats not true. Any thing you see on your screen HAS been downloaded to your pc. I never use sites that have pop ups / adverts coming up whilst I am on them, I think you will find others are the same. Also people are put off buying from companies that are using free hosting as its seen as a fly by night operation. Get a real web address / domain & paid for hosting, its not exspensive. CAnt coment on anything else as I have not visited the site (& wont wilst it has popups)

That's a fair comment Justme.  But in fairness, does it actually harm your pc to have google pop up ads, especially as you can set your browser to block them.

I am at the trial stage at the moment.  I have dealt with a leading UK trap manufacturer for a number of years, and this is my first foray into e-trading.  I have been spurred into getting a website set up because I have a few novel products for the UK market, which I do not believe are being sold elsewhere.

I have taken the opportunity to use a free hosting service because I cannot afford to trade without doing so at the moment, mainly due to the outlay in getting certain products manufactured for the UK market.

I am no millionaire investor; nor am I a fly-by-night.  I am a full time pest controller with a passion for traps and trapping.  As the business grows, I will invest all the profits back into products and services; and the first profit will go into the website.  I already have a number of satisfied customers.

Thanks for the information, keep it coming, good or bad.

We pay a few quid each year to not have adverts on here. We think its well worth the expense
Lloyd

Keep us updated Mat,  :-) but the pop up was annoying.
matt the rat

OK!  Nobody can accuse me of not listening!

Website is now ad free, and I've changed it a bit.

What do you think of it now?

I was more interested in comments about the website than the prices!

I can match Magnum prices for 60 mole traps.  I also have a few new (to the uk) products which will be going on soon.  I think the Mk6 & Mk4 prices are very keen considering these are the genuine articles.
bodger

Perhaps an article on here on how and when to use them Matt ?
matt the rat

There will be a few articles on the website soon.

Is there anything OTG would particularly like to see?  I'm planning an article on trap preparation first, but could do something on mole trapping if thats what people want.

Rabbit trapping in burrows is also something people don't seem to have much of an idea about.

I'm setting some fenns up for rats tonight, and will get some pictures if that will interest you guys.

Keep the comments coming........ :q37:

So who apart from a very busy professional would want to buy mole traps 60 at a time ??
Your tapping the wrong market here I reckon. There are a couple of professional pest controllers on this forum, be nice to hear what they have to say !!

How about product pictures ????
Needs a lot of work methinks !!!
matt the rat

I'm not trying to tap into the market here!  I just wanted some opinions on the website!  (which you will see if you re-read the first post!) :hello2:

I appreciate that only pro trappers are going to want 60 mole traps at a time; but I was just making a point in reply to your critisism of the prices. sorry.gif

Yes, it needs alot more work yet, and I will be adding pictures and articles.
bodger

Keep at it Matt, you'll get there.
