Hopping Hare

Has anyone tried this lovely beer from the Badger Brewery??  I've got a comission for a friends party in a couple of months so I'm going to try and recreate its' recipe and brew up 5 gallons of it tomorrow.

If you haven't tried it, its well worth picking a bottle or two up next time you're in the supermarket.

That's another fave of mine, a really nice light pint.  I reckon if you like that, you'd like the hare. Must admit I don't like the golden glory one that tastes perfumy.

Yes it does, I think the label says something about floral aromas not really to my taste either.

I know I've posted something similar before, but here's my cobbled together brewery in action.

God bless Isaac Newton for inventing gravity   it's a simple gravity fed, Hot Liquor Tank at the top, Mash Tun in the middle and Boiler/Copper at the bottom

The pic above is the 'sparge' in process, sprinkling hot water over the grains to get all the sugary goodness out.

The collected 'Wort' is now boiling away in the garage with hops being added at various times for bitterness, flavour and aroma (dependant on when they are added during the boil).

Cheers,

should be about 4.3% if I've worked it out right.

Here's the brew casked up with a couple of sample bottles.

I've had the casks a wee while now but never used them so I'm really looking forward to having proper 'cask conditioned real ale'

Early sampling for QC purposes were very promising

I popped a bottle of this last night and it's turne out really well.  It's not an exact match but it's close enough for me, I'll be looking forward to tapping the cask in a couple of weeks and giving it a proper test!!
