Happy couple of hours................

resulted in these two beauties

Fancied a wee bit of R&R this evening, so headed to a wee lochan I've been hearing about just a few minutes up the road. Cracking hatch of olives tonight, & these two fell to a LO in the surface film.

Biggest went 5 1/2, while the other was a mere tiddler at 1 3/4

Clunkers!
Woodsmoke

Big 'un certainly pulled my string, that's for sure. Had me down to the backing on his first run!

I was on a 3lb cast, so I really couldn't horse it & just couldn't stop him!

Nice catch mate.

Magner's by a loch, beats sitting on your arris on the patio swilling down Tuborg, but I was not doing that was I.

I was Carp fishing, while swilling down cans of Tuborg.

Heh heh heh..........

Decided to forgo that first pint mate, & head out for some sport. Glad I did, but that first pint has gone down beautifully. Just blowing the froth off the second

Nice breakfast tomorrow Woody, or are you going to smoke them?
Woodsmoke

I reckon the larger one will produce a couple of nice cold-smoked sides, mate. The smaller one I'll fillet & we'll have it hot-smoked for tomorrow's dinner I think
confused

Well done , a couple of lovely fish ,
Woodsmoke

Thanks Paul

Not forgotten that promise I made you, by the way! There'll be a wee sample on its way to you once it's out of the smoker
Jonty

Lovely fish mate.

Where did you buy them from?
Woodsmoke

We have plenty of choices mate

Butterstone, Ledcrieff, Ledyatt, Lairds...................fair few about nwo Ive started looking

I was predominantly a river fisherman, but I'm starting to enjoy lazing about on a boat mroe & more these days
Bodach

Me traditional drift fishing short line fishing trollaching the bob fly right up to the boat before lifting off again, can spend all day doing that and forget all about the rest of life day passes so quick and a fish is an extra wee treat.

Butterstone has some cracking browns that would love the bob, mate

Something like a Bibio, Zulu or Kate McLaren would be the order of the day, I reckon! Traditional flies are jsut as good today as they ever were! I've never been one for dragging lures through the water on a Hi-D just to pull a tail-less barrel of flab out of the water..................
