Grass carp

While setting out the mallard ducklings I could see the grass crap in the shallows at the other end of the pond taking the sun, so I tried to capture a few images.
Not that clear I'm afraid as they kept stirring up the mud with their tails, but this is what I managed.

While taking images of the carp this little fellow landed between my feet.

I've seen some angling programmes where they've been catching these fish and they look as though they give the anglers a real fight.

We have only managed to catch two one was 61cm and the other 63cm.
They finally went for wheat, after we had tried canned maize, spam, and bread.

As you say they put up a bit of a fight, we do not normally fish for them, they are there for aquatic weed control, which they have done very well.
