Hi paladin first question what modulus silicone should be used to put glass in and should one layer be used or two and is that under or over or both?

Hi ya green man. I'm supplied with Everflex 335,Low modulus. I use it with DG Units into timber. I apply a run around the rebates and up to three along the bottom edge. I always make sure there are packers underneath too. The  DG unit is capped, frame to glass with Silicone before the beads are fixed.
I also use it with Laminated glass in the same way where it is to be faced glazed with putty. The silicone is allowed to cure before adding the putty as it stops the oils in the putty being 'sucked' into the Lamination and staining the glass.
Is that what you mean?

Yes thanks , many years ago I had a load of DG units fixed into wooden frames and about 3 of them failed so we got the firm to come and sort it that was when they said the fitters had used the incorrect modulus silicone but I never did find out which was the correct one to use till now that is -thanks
