Fruit Cage

I am soon going to be building a fruit cage. Timber posts and wire netting. I am using wire netting rather than plastic because apart from birds we are plagued with rabbits and squirrels. Size is about 20ft by 15ft. I will be using a netting size of 13mm to keep out the small birds. I have read that the roof netting should be removed in winter as heavy snowfall could build up and cause a problem due to the weight, has anyone experienced this? Any comments or advice welcomed.

Thanks,

Cooey

I've seen quite a few come down in the snow.
If I were build one, certainly I'd add plenty of cross beams across the top, say at least every 3ft over the 15ft  length and a good few more over the 20ft.
Making sure its tall enough to walk into without bending .
Hope all goes to plan for you, best of luck

Don't forget some pics,

Thanks for that. Maybe I need to add a few internal uprights as well.
