Border

It's all about being in the right place at the right time.

Result mate
debbie

definitely a result...seems to be the week for freebies..and long may it continue
sod

really Good one, as you said long may it keep up
Seabird

Yes - must be a good week for freebies.
I was asked if I could give a home to a pedigree British blue cat the other day. An hour after I'd expressed an interest she was delivered to me in the shop! I can't understand people who pay hundreds of pounds for these animals and then discard them like last season's fashions.
She's no trouble at all either - litter trained, furniture friendly, good with people. I was definitely in the right place at the right time.
gorlan

free

nothing like an animal friend is there?
sod

Seabird never heard of them what do they look like?

gorlan   very true and the more the better better than a lot of humans, wait till you have to get rid of all but 1 of her pups
Seabird

Here she is! I took this just after I got her home - we've since ditched the chavvy collar.

sod

debbie

I'm afraid as far as I'm concerned, the words 'cat' and 'favourite' should only ever be used in a sentence including the word 'target'

Has my GWP been talking to you, as thats his way of thinking to.

So I don't see many felidae around our place.

Shame really, as I quite fancy a lion roaming about the yard.

I think I have read somewhere that the British Blue is now more popular in the UK than the Siamese.

A man after my own heart.

We are just into our fourth year at this address and I have never once seen a cat around.
sod

We hate rats n mice cats kill them so my though is like hates make us great mates   also they love with out any cost so all good not like a lot of people
horace

I can,t be doing with cats either i don,t see why an animal thats kept well fed should kill birds just for the hell of it.
Seabird

So is man the only creature allowed to hunt 'just for the hell of it'?
horace

I do not agree with trophy hunting either if you can,t eat it why kill it as for vermin it needs keeping in check

Actually, I seem to remember a program showing chimpanzees doing exactly that? If I remember right, they were actively hunting monkeys?

For my own part (and I know this is off-topic, so apologies to OP!  ), although I love my shooting, ferreting & fishing, if I was put into the position of only being allowed to so it for the sport (i.e: not being able to put something on the table) I probably wouldn't continue with it at all. That's one of the reasons I just don't 'get' the appeal of coarse fishing
Seabird

Forgive my short fuse, but EVERY time cats are mentioned on this forum, the same old cat hating comments come out of the woodwork - I was waiting for the first one, and sure enough, Woodsmoke didn't disappoint.
Heard it all before

  BORING!!

and the cimpanzees were eating the monkeys.
sod

Just you hang on a moment! Before you start getting all stroppy & hot under the collar, my comment was meant as a light-hearted bit of fun. If you want to spit the dummy then feel free, but save it for something worthwhile rather than taking the huff over something so daft...........

And as for 'heard it all before'................

Done to absolute death on many occasions.............
Seabird

Not taking the huff mate - just as I said, the cat comments have all been done to death and I was waiting for the first one. Lighthearted maybe, but so predictable!

Time to move on eh?

........ so, Gorlan - what are you going to grow in your greenhouse?

Woodsmoke

Fair n'uff
gorlan

greenhouse

all i can eat lol on other matters,i think everything has a right to life
sod

I read a good one about a vicar sitting at waters edge reading book and fishing pole out when a person rushes up and tells him he's needed so he pull line out of water with no hooks, he's asked whats with that he replys "if I was just sat he reading everyone would come talk to me but as I'm fishing everyone leaves me alone" I'm sure that must be why I go fishing sometimes as I catch nothing
