Four months on

Black slate decking/hard core patio  eer! out the question...1400 's  plus hard core ect......4.8 x 4.8 mts...I don't think so....

Add to this the slate tends to go grey/white-ish....PS .thats suply only..Huh!

Well, Aerated blocks, sand and cement turned up at at 3.40 pm today....orded Monday....24hr delivery (Huh )    .....its now gone very chilly...

The now black patio is out the window..DD ain;t that rich..

So now I have to work  with a 600 x 600 slab, which is called blue/black.......

Allot lighter in colour....rougher on the surface, but not as slippy as as the shinny smooth surface......

I have not  ordred the slabs as yet, ....please any sugestions....

I know we get loads of leaves in the garden...Sugestions are now needed!

Rough or smooth hard standing area...,I don't want to be cleaning the are every 12mths..

Any Thoughts?.........

Well..I'm now laying the blocks. Celcion blocks , 210x 100 x440 mm.

Getting my levels is nothing compared with the 24hr delivery...eer! 3 days....

Anyhow finally got started....laying the blocks....dead chuffed ;;;I'm no Bricky...
But bally eck they are straight and spot on level

I have now come across a blue/black slab...600 sq....not quite what I had in mind...but at least fresh and clean looking...and almost half the price of black slate....
Oh! ...first lot of black slate turned up, matt finish, not as I had ordered, polished....they did not even get dropped....

Phone call later, we don't supply the polished ones now, so we sent you the next best thing.......I'll have me pennies back thank you........they looked nothing like I'd ordered....

Since found out ...no mater how good a slab they still go grey'ish in the sun...

So now we are going for the Blue/black...thanks for the advice, okay I'll have to jet wash them....every year... such is life..

Hard core , ballast, sharp sand, compactor...ect all on the way,
