For Sale <grin>

"A rare opportunity is presented in this traditional three bedroomed detached house (1,356 sq ft) with grounds extending to approximately 0.4 acre. Currently used as a smallholding and offering a variety of potential uses (subject to consents) the property must be viewed to be appreciated."

Finally I can share our news.

We are moving on, so if you fancy "A Small Holding" in South Yorkshire or just want to be nosey and see our house   it is on the Agents website here: http://www.merryweathers.co.uk/pr...000&type=sales&id=2915856

or on Right Move here: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-26649282.html

It's not really suitable for a full blown smallholding but great for someone who wants to have a dabble and still be in a village.

For those who don't 'know me' my blog is at www.asmallholding.blogspot.com so you can see what we have been up to here.

Exciting times!
But you can't leave it like that - what's next, where you going, what you gonna do etc. etc.?
Mo

We are hoping to move up to Cumbria.
We have our eye on something but don't want to say too much in case we tempt fate.

Cumbria     isn't that somewhere inside the artic circle?

Seriously though..... everything you have listed and written about on your blog was achieved in only 0.4 of an acre, if so then I applaud (very loudly)everything that you have done.
Rena

Definitely EXCITING times!!! Hoping all goes well, and very much looking forward to updates!!
Digindeep

Mo...you have achieved so much on the land you now have....

Can't wait for your future adventure.....

If only......

Wish you all the best for your  new venture and future...look forward to how it all goes...  go for it....

Mo

I'm itching to do a blog post but will hold off until we know we have a buyer.

We hope for a quick sale.
This place is a bit unique in the village.
It had about 1½ acres when my Great Grandad bought it in 1936 but a big chunk of the land was compulsory purchased for the school playing field many moons ago. Thankfully, we only have the infants out to play beyond our boundary. They have been thrilled that some of our hens put in regular appearances for a while last year by escaping over the fence.

Most of the houses in the village that had land sold it off for development but my family didn't.

Good luck with the adventure, keep us posted

And ironically now so many people are desperate to buy a place with a bit of land!! Good luck with the sale-I'm sure it will be snapped up quickly!

All the best for a quick sale    nice place you have.
Mo

We have offers!

Trying very hard not to be a giddy kipper...

I am desperately trying to declutter and may well come across stuff that someone here might be interested in so might be making some posts here.

We're also pondering the polytunnel. Unless the buyers want to make us an offer for it, we might be selling it. Will let you know.

Congratulations!!

That's fantastic news

Oo, oo, oo-let me know if you do as we're not a million miles away and we are thinking about getting one!
Mo

Things have been hotting up, in a good way

Freckle, if the buyers don't want the PT I will give you a heads up.
It's 6m x 4m.

We have nothing on eBay ATM and we won't be selling our chicken sheds. We hope to take the pig ark with us too.

Thanks

The agents thought it would go like a hot cake. I wasn't so sure, old house and all that. I love it, but then it has been "Home" all my life. Well, since I was 1 yr old.

I have 4 generations of 'treasures' to declutter - eek!
bodger

Fingers crossed for you that things go through.

You have land Mo and they don't make that any more! Any sucker will buy a house in any condition so they can get land in the right area, whatever the house is like, then spend years and rather too much money sorting said house out........
Mo

I hear you, freckle, not least because we spent more time looking at the land than the house the first time we viewed the property we are after

We have secured it STC although had a bit of a scare yesterday when someone else suddenly showed interest.

The property malarkey is not for the faint hearted is it?

We have a huge skip being delivered today and I have been told that I have to part with almost everything we find in the loft...
One of my close friends has promised to visit over the weekend to laugh at my attempts to declutter...

Please use ebay...you'd be amazed what people will buy seriously.  Things you think nobody in their right mind would want.
I have on ebay at the mo, our 8 yr old not working ex boiler.....and its got a bid of £40 on it.
Also just sold a really old saggy (but intact) Parker knoll armchair.  we bought it off ebay 2 yrs ago for a tenner for the kitchen next to the woodburner, and ive just sold it for £30.

By all means skip real trash, but Im sure a pile for a charity shop and a pile for ebay would work.

Quite right! Or use local FB selling sites-or even have a yard sale-even if you eat pence for stuff it all helps-hundreds of items at a quid each.......
Mo

I used to use eBay quite a lot and have sold some surprising things on there. The recent changes in parcel charges has put me off a bit. I shall have to have a rethink and will probably go back to it.

I have several boxes for the charity shop already and some other stuff that I may try at an auction house.

For example, I have a ginormous framed, signed, limited edition print of some elephants - there's no way I could post it to anyone!
Wilder

The other option for things you can't get to the charity shop and that are not OK for eBay is Freecycle.  I got shot of heaps of things through Freecycle when we moved to France.  For instance, I had an absolutely ancient filing cabinet and, rather than take it to the tip, I put in on Freecycle and people were fighting over it!
Mo

I'm ashamed of how much true 'junk' we had. Honestly, I only skipped the real junk and we've filled an 8 tonner

Well, I'm disgusted, only one 8 tonner?

We still have the old stable to tackle...
