For crying out loud!

You know the saying, "if some folk didn't have bad luck they wouldn't have any luck at all"?
Well it looks as though, for us, 2016 is going to take over where 2015 left off.
Got into the car to go shopping, pressed the clutch - straight to the floor, no resistance.
Check the placcy clip on the pedal rod, hmmm still there (they can break or slip off which gives this effect, it's a 39p fix).
Get out of car and notice pool of hydraulic fluid on driveway...
Car is now with friendly garage to be examined in Monday.
Instinct says it's the slave cylinder, the one that's inside the gearbox, that you have to remove the clutch assembly to get at so you may as well fit new friction plates whilst you're in there.
You know when you really, really, want to be wrong?

Ouch...sorry to hear that.

I hate cars

Hope it's a quick, cheap fix.

Not very likely...

I wonder if it could be a delivery pipe that's at fault?
Hope so.

I hate cars too.

Sounds like it might take a few hours overtime to fix 12Bore.

New clutch, new slave cylinder and replace a part of the gearbox casing damaged by the cylinder didintegrating...

Ford garages charge approx 600+ just for the clutch...

My mate, Ted, owns a garage and did it for me at parts cost price plus the dreaded VAT ...... 250!
I could have done without it but Ted is a bdooly hero!
gwiz

Sounds like a good result!
