Farrier costs

We have moved yards and because of "politics" have had to use a different farrier. Was slightly horrified at the cost - 65 -gulp! She does have natural balance shoes and road nails but even so.....what does everyone else pay??? Love Lizzie

I pay 55 for a bog standard set of shoes. Other farriers here are chanrge 70 for a normal set of shoes!

Mine are all unshod at the mo and I pay 20 a trim. I think when mine was shod it was 60 and that was a bog standard set.

60 a set for the horse.
15 for the pony to be trimmed.

57 for a full set plus road studs and 20 for a trim

Not sure what the going rate round here is as i knew and had already decided upon my farrier before i bought Hols so didnt have to do the rounds of asking which farrier to use and what his costs were.

Mine are barefoot and I pay $35 for a trim, it works out slightly less than the 20 you pay in the UK.
Whipcord

69 for a set here with road studs every 4-5 weeks in the hunting season

I think we must be very lucky as we only pay 15 for trims !, not had anything shod for 2 years but last time it was 45.
