Farmers.

Farmers should and must care about their animals after they leave their farms but it appears that some don't.

I've seen them being round up with helicopters & 4x4's before and that's one thing, but rammed into with quads
sod

We use same here on some places choppers far up and out as welsh boy said and our dogs did in close work. I have seen a bull and quad come together bull walked off quad towed away smashed  & rider broken arm. Just for the record big black n white bull turned into the quad, lifted front off ground and over.
debbie

The cottage we used to rent here (until 2 years ago) was on a hill farm.  every now and then a lorry would turn up and take away the "cull" ewes. The farmers wife used to help load them but said to me afterwards once..I hate it you don't know where they are going and the chances are they won't wind up in an abattoir.  I asked her once then why? and she said, more money. But I said, I sell mutton, have it killed locally and sell it myself.  she said "not the way its done round here" and i think that the problem. money and "its not the way its done" and the inability to think outside the box.  One of the many reasonswe will NEVER send one of our animals to market.  we are there when they are born adn we are there when they die. Then we know
sod

debbie can you explain how that works, we send ours to works or sale and they have to go where we send them to
debbie

dealers.  They will go round the farms buying up cull stock if you don't want to send to market and take your chance on the price on the day - either way you don't know where they will end up unless you take them to an abattoir yourself
sod

Thank you debbie as we don't have that here, we sell to works 'abattoir' at set price/kilo or to sale yards where they are bid on by buyers
