Fantastic Dragonflys!

We've had the occasional dragonfly visiting our garden pond virtually from day one from putting the water in it. I love to see them but some people are understandably a little wary about these creatures, because after all they do look rather alien don't they? I apologise for my non too brilliant attempt at linking to these fabulous pictures, so just enjoy

I got a new one recently, Joe broke the lens on my old one! Gawd knows how he did it...he is talented like that!

Too cold here for them at them moment but we get plenty here in the summer, may have to see if I can get anywhere as near as good as those shots

Thanks for those great pics. We have some pretty ones, but the ones everyone loves here are black and about 3" long, thick as my little finger around, and eat mosquitoes.....they are the very best.....even though they look like small attack helicopters!!

What a fantastic image of a female Emperor dragonfly laying eggs, a one in a million shot.
