Ever hopeful.

One of our Ancona hens waits patiently for our visiting gold finches and siskins to drop some niger seed.

Patience is a virtue, must be worth the wait.

At least the hen getting it is useful feeding. All I have under mine are cushie doos (the huge wood pigeons)
Five of them makes a big pie though!

We have 'Woodys' under the other feeders and while I would eat yours, I could never bring myself to shoot my own. I could shoot someone else's and I'm the same with the occasional visiting pheasant that we get.

Y'know ? that sums it up
We become used to the regulars, they become familiar and we recognise them. We don't keep livestock but the wild birds are neighbours that we see often.
