Cumbrian Pig Breeders?

It's that time of year again when we go on the hunt for rare breed weaners - in short supply in our neck of the woods.

Our first pigs here were Saddlebacks from Ulverston, last years OSBs were from over near Barnard Castle.

I'm just starting to look in earnest but from what I've seen there appear to be plenty of rare breed crosses and few pure bred - and we would really like to help the pure breeders by buying their 'not so perfect' weaners.

Thought it was worth asking in here if anyone knows of anyone up our way?

Have you tried asking on FB pedigree pigs uk ?

Or go on the BPA website go into search for pigs put in a region and it will bring up breeders in your area that have had pigs born . they will all be pedigree so you will be doing your bit for pedigree breeders !!.

If you have any problems message me and I will try and help.

I do check the BPA but often wonder how often folk get around to updating.
I did notice Yearle Tamworths - that's where we did our Pig Course, but would prefer something more local if we can find it.
Off to inspect the FB link...

The Bpa up date once a litter has been birth noted so you can see who has litters on the ground.

I've never used preloved - always a bit wary, do you use it?

When you're ready Mo, you two should meander down here, have a night on the cider and go back home the following morning with two GOS weaners priced at thirty five quid each.
