Colombian Seagulls!

OK, I'm only kidding, I have been in Colombia nearly two years and never seen a seagull yet! However I remember how you would always find them where there was rubbish. Here we have our own variety, the Black Vulture, they are as common as Seagulls, and unfortunately due to the culture, there is plenty of rubbish about. When I am walking my dog along the river bank, there are always Vultures waddling around, and he loves to chase them. I don't know whether it is the way we were brought up, but even after this time, I still shudder every time I see one.

You must have Turkey Vultures where you are.  They are very common in the summer months here.  There are still a few about that have not left for warmer winter  locations.
