Christmas Cards.

This year, we've sent out fewer Christmas Cards than ever before. This is down to the cost and that some of the cards we send possibly don't mean a lot to their recipients. maybe in todays age with cheap telephone calls and the various options offered by the internet, the need to send Christmas cards isn't quite what it used to be.
Don't get me wrong, its still nice to recieve cards and although we have still sent a few out, what we are going to do instead, is to send out E Cards. When I say we, by that, what I really mean is that Karen is. Thats because I don't know how to do it.
I know that Christmas cards do mean a lot to some people but with the hike in postage costs, I don't mind betting that this year the volume of cards sent will be down.
Whats your take on sending Christmas cards and how much or how little have you spent on postage this year?
sod

Funny the ones that are coming in now because "Jean"sent them cards along with the story of our year, that is so far
Lorrainelovesplants

have done 6 for us......
have done 10 for mum - all expensive postage abroad - came to 8 for the postage.
For the first time, Ive put in a word processed sheet of information/greeting.
debbie

We will only be sending out about 6 Iwould think - to people that we see very rarely the rest, like Bodger and Kaz will probably be an e-card

Crikey! I've posted 36

All to friends all around the country who I don't see very often. I really look forward to getting the cards with the letters and photos in.

Unfortunately more than usual have contained bad news this year but I enjoyed seeing the pictures of my old riding friend's autistic son with his teams of driving ponies - he's national pairs champion this year!!
WhatCameFirst

I too have posted 30 something this year.  Some with letters and some without.  OH could not believe the price of stamps though!

The office used to be just silly with everyone sending cards to everyone else. Over the years we've tried to do other things, so some of us buy a tin of Quality Street or similar, and some buy goats and the like via Oxfam.
12Bore

Mrs 12Bore has always been responsible for sending our cards, this year she has reduced the number by about 60%, it's not the cards, they're cheap enough, it's the bdooly postage which has finally killed it.
Border

What a nice surprize.......I have just recieved an E-card with a fantastic image.

I will shortly be sending a card in return.
Grandma Bodger

I vowed I wouldn,t send as many cards because of the postage cost but at my age everyone would think I had died and I wasn,t  having that

Ooops!
Christine

I was hoping to keep the number in the post under 10. Managed that by putting some in one parcel which had to be sent anyway. The remaining few are hand delivered.
darkbrowneggs

This is  a site with freebie email animated Christmas cards you might like to try.

Though a while ago I sent an email card to someone, and since then I get regular emails from the site, so I did wonder if using it increased "spam" for the recipient as well.   would be interested to hear from those who regularly send greetings emails
