catapult forks

going to get a few forks soon...
what kind of stuff would you folks put on the finished forks ie. boiled linseed oil etc....

I am a big fan of the use raw Linseed oil on wood, but not boiled Linseed oil.

Raw cold pressed Linseed Oil is used as a feed supplement for almost all livestock, and you could if wanted to fry your chips in it.

Boiled Linseed oil is prepared with toxic metallic dryers which are catalysts to accelerate drying, and these remain toxic on the finished surface.

However, 2 or 3 coats of raw Linseed oil allowed to dry between coats and then a final coat of Raw Linseed Oil Blended with Beeswax will provide a good looking, robust and really hard wearing waterproof finish.

cheers for that, one to think about.
