Car rescue and recovery....

Anyone got any tips on finding a cheap deal, just canceled my AA as the price was going up and up and I havent used it for a while, that said I dont want to be compleatly without cover so any tips on comparison sites or the cheapest deals around??

Hi Pilsbury, where you been?
A guy on the Bushcraftuk forum was looking for jerky. I posted your site address in reply.

As for car cover the three big firms have it pretty well sown up. Sometime you can get cover with new insurance. We got 'free' cover when we insured the cars with the Post Office.

My daughter has used:

and speaks highly of them. Their full package at 66 for 15 months (equivalent to 52.80 pa) looks a good deal.

Yeah I know its the big 3 really but they the AA wanted 120 again, they offered to drop the price to 90 as I had been a customer for 12 years and not called them much.
I pointed out I could get RAC cover for 40 as a new customer to which he replied I had complimentary home start from the AA and he was on the RAC website and the cost of getting the same cover with them was 82.50, when I pointed out that was still 7.50 cheaper than the AA with a 12 Year oyalty discount he was a bit caught out and just went ahead and canclled my direct debit.
What I was looking for was comparison sites or stuff like Quidco that give cash back deals to get the price down as well.
I will look later in the week but thought I would see if anyone had any tips and pointers  before I ploughed through pages of websites

I use Tesco Clubcard vouchers for full RAC cover - a 1/4 of the actual cost in vouchers.....the AA offered to 'keep my details on file for when the offer runs out' - let it run and run

Actually it "costs" 210.

But you do also get family holiday cover & phone insurance plus lots of other bits we never use. We have it but I am just looking to see if I can get all the cover we actually need / use for less.

I actually stayed with the AA after getting them to reduce the price and still include relay and homestart.
I changed to a cheaper one a few years ago but got caught out because they left me high and dry after an accident in a blizzard!
You get what you pay for, so as I'm on my own I'm happy to stick with one of the top 2 as long as I can get them to reduce the price!

You have to beware of those offered with bank accounts, so often Pete goes to breakdowns and they only actually have 10 mile tow!

Creates some bother sometimes, I can tell you!

Well ours (via Lloydstsb) has taken us nearly 200 miles on two separate occasions & on one we had a trailer too. Plus it was done in one go so no changes.

You have one of the good ones then.........Pete has to put up with a bit of grief off some people when they realise they only the 10-mile tow!
