We used to have quite a few knife makers on the forum but unfortunately, over the years, most if not all  have wandered off.

As with any project: prior planning and preparation prevents piss poor performance.

Set your knife and handle material out, as it is going to be in the finished product. Check for quality, any warped materials, blemishes, damge that may effect the finished product. Consider how any defects are to be overcome.

Prepare your materials and equipment. You will need glues and clamps in the first stages. Grinders and polishing in the second and final stages.
Always make sure each component lines up the way you want it to.

Most of all relax and have fun!

The hardest bit is getting a good fit between handle and blade. To get the handle snugly seated drill a series of pilot holes (narrower slightly than the tang in both directions) then heat the end of the tang away from the blade and push it in to burn it in place.

I use a drill stand now to get the holes square to the handle material, then a small rat tail file I have flattened on the sides to work out the rest of the fitting for the tang. Dont over tighten the bolt on the end of the tang til all is set, you may split your handle and lose all your hard work.
Nice looking blade there.

Karesuandos don't usually have a bolt on the tang, you need the handle to be a bit longer than the tang so the tang remains hidden.
