Memories of Caroline....and before that tiny transister radio...
tunning into Luxemburgh...lying under the bed sheets,
batteries lasted about an hour or so....spent ages tuning in...
Then recharge the batteries on the edge of the fire...or in the oven...

ooooooH!! GLORIOUS days.....such memories..

I can remember trying to recharge batteries by holding them in my hand to warm them up (mum would have killed me if i'd put them in her oven). And all so I could listen the Friday Rock Show with Tommy Valance late on a friday.
Under the covers with the sound turned down of course, cos Dad had radar scanners for ears and could hear every thing that went on upstairs

I remember our local Locarno dance hall - it had a glitterball and wonderful plastic potted palm trees.  We used to put our handbags on the floor and dance round them.  Happy days.

Sounds very much like Tiffanys in Newcastle under Lyme. The memory dims now somewhat but as I recall, every Thursday was 'Grab a Granny Night'
Bazzer

Local Clubs still have a Grab-A-Granny night but known as Jurassic Park.

You always get a shimmer from a Zimmer.
