Yorkshire Geordie

Birds I have met

Once again I have been out with Biscuit.

It was another very cold day    but the skies were comparatively clear, especially of snow and rain.

Today we met a fiew birds that I've known since my Yorkshire childhood days.

Firstly was miss curlew.

Then we met miss little egret.

Miss redshank was busy looking for a quick meal.

Finally one of the many frequent birds hereabouts, miss tern. She was very close

This final shot illustrates advanced preparations that have been made for the coming summer by Budleigh's Cricket Club.
I think the game is similar to water-polo and the pitch is being modified for water-cricket.

Once again Biscuit and I rushed home for warmth and a hot coffee for me.

Very good, Border.
Obviously you travel in warmer climates than me, currently in Siberian Devon.

I too like wading birds..........but where I am at the moment its -6 degrees and far to cold to be on the foreshore taking photo's.

I took these some time ago, even the Dipper looks cold.

I like those, Border.
Looking at the snow reminds me of Geordieland.
We haven't had any snow to talk about for five years here in East Devon. It is, however, very cold and we've had the heating on recently.

Blue tits are a bit scarce here also.

I met a few more birds today but they were all rather "flighty".

This bird was a high flier ........

........ who got more beautiful the closer she got.

This bird was skimming the edge as close as possible, looking for something.

This bird was definitely the soarer as the sky brightened and the sea's stripes and colours were show well.
