Bee-keeping

Anyone an expert??

Thinking of getting into this in the next couple of years...do my bit to help save us all! AND I am addicted to honey.....

Hawkeye

Been thinking about that myself as well, my father used to keep bees years ago and i used to help him. Im sure there are courses somewhere
MrH

Started a course last week so not an expert yet but hopfully in 6 weeks time I might have a bit more of a clue...

Ooo....keep us updated!

OH has also started a course-second week tonight and they have been handling hives-he is hooked already!!  Auction of bee equipment on Saturday which also happens to be his birthday so I suspect some stuff will arrive home...
Try finding your local Bee Keeping Association or group and see when they run courses-they are more than helpful up here in Yorks-all very enthusiastic to the point of obbessive and bonkers-some of them don't even like honey, just bees!!

yep - we too started a course two weeks ago, second meeting tonight. This is with the Oxfordshire bee keeping assc but I imagine all areas must have groups like this dotted around. We found out about our local group from the details on a local keepers honey jar.

Brill idea - Problem is I will then have to fight Polidori for access to the laptop as the PC refuses to connect to the internet any more!!!

We want to get one or both of us signed up to the Leeds Beekeeping Association course but a 50 per person ( ) I'm gonna need a very rich bank to rob (where would I find one of them THESE days?)
