Bear lard

A friend was lucky this year and harvested a young black bear. He saved tbe fat and tried his hand at rendering and was very generous and shared some. So far we've been using it to fry eggs, homefries, steaks, etc.  Very nice product, very faint aroma and does not seem to add any additional flavor to the food. Supposed to be great for pastries and baking so will need to try that soon.

Plus he invited us back to sample some grilled bear loin, delicious!
