Bakeoff masterclass

On one of my girls recommendations i've just watched the Christmas one on iplayer and have got to have a go at Paul Hollywoods Turkey cranberry and stuffing chelsea buns   look delicious....can;t do link cos i'm rubbish

I also watched that and have printed the recipe off ready for some left overs on Christmas day. I tried his pastry as well and it is lovely

well i'm seriously rubbish at pastry but you're quite right Claire   it was yummy and really easy.............there wasn't enough turkey survived for the recipe i wanted to try ...never mind  it'll just have to wait

I made both and the pastry is definately a keeper, very easy and very yummy. Need to tweek the turkey rolls though as they didnt have enough bite in them, maybe a dose of chilli jam might help next time

did you make your cranberry sauce or use bought.........i make ours with port and star anise   the berries retain a shape and it's really tasty

Afraid i cheated and used shop bought, have never made my own but that might be one for next Christmas!

ooohhh nooo not choglit cake     .......i also happen to have a pretty delectable favourite recipe for that too.....

Can you put up the recipe for cranberry sauce, if i start now i might remember to make it for this coming christmas!!!

250g fresh or frozen cranberries
grated zest 1 orange
juice of 2 oranges (i've used juice clementines and /or juice from fridge)
2tbsp redcurrant jelly
150ml port
1 star anise
2tbsp golden caster sugar

Put berries in saucepan with zest juice redcurrant jelly port and star anise and slowly bring to simmer
Cook gently over low heatabout 15mins until berries have burst and sauce looks thick and glossy
Stir in sugar to taste fish out star anise
Will keep in sealed container 2weeks or freezer 2 months
