Apassionata

Today I had a lovely email to say I had won a family ticket to go and see the Apassionata at the O2 arena in London at the end of the month.  Was completely gobsmacked and thought at first it was a joke, but it's not. Kids are over the moon (except youngest did ask if she could still go showjumping at Kenwick on the sunday!) and hubby has said he will do the neds in the evening so we can go.

Yippee, can't wait. We are all really looking forward to it

It's the week after, 30th Jan, showjumping organised by the SWN Pony Club. Maybe I will see you there

We had a brilliant time at the O2 on sat. The show was fantastic and the horses amazing, I especially fell for the shire who was doing dressage, he was so light and soft in his carriage, absolutely gorgeous. There were also 6 Fresians who were stunning. None of the horses or donkeys were phased by the lights, noise or atmosphere and the stunt riding was frankly stunning.

My youngest fell in love with the Icelandic ponies who all came in with sparklers attached to there knees which was slightly strange but an amazing sight.

All in all a fantastic day and well worth the trip

We saw "Spirit of the Horse" in Bath several years ago and this was very similar.   As you say, if a horse really doesn't want to do something no amount of pushing and pulling is going to change its mind

Glad you had a good time - that's something I would have loved to see.

I saw 'Spirit of the Horse' a few years ago and loved it too. Wondered what to expect when we turned up and it was in a circus tent. Particularly liked the Iberian horse dancing with the flamenco dancer - and of course the cossack riders all wearing lycra!!! I did wonder afterwards though, when I read in the programme that it was run by a member of the Chipperfield family who don't have a good history with animals. I would hope that things have changed now though.

I forgot I had taken these, not very clear but never mind

Thlad  above was absolutely gorgeoous and so light on his feet, i could have quite happily taken him home.

This guy was amazing, he ended up jumping the flames with 4 horses. the trust his horses have with him must be phenominal
