Anyone help with this???

Noticed this behaviour earlier today whilst she was at the water and presumed it was just her drinking etc.   Found her tonight in a corner tail down and under and not a happy hen.   Checked for egg bound but doesn't seem to be any egg down there and she can drink water as I gave her some through a syringe.   Anyone see similar?

Look up Gapes -from the youtube symptoms
bodger

It could very well be gapes or other worms blocking the airway.
Tokas, I'm sure you have contacts with gamekeepers, see if you can get hold of some of the stuff they use for controlling gapes in pheasants.

Thanks for that she is shaking her head a bit and since I gave her that water she's more herself.  Up and feeding tail no longer down.   I've treated her with some panache and treated the water in the run with the same to offer a bit more protection.   Will keep you all updated.

Could be a respiratory bug. Any sneezing?
TokaS

No,  no sneezing.   Symptoms do seem to be exact for Gapes.   Thanks

panacur in water for 3 days is how we treated pheasants
TokaS

Hi.   I'm giving her a toy shot of panacur in the morning and I've put a couple of cc in their water...

She's no worse today but still in discomfort...  Atb
