Another one to try

Been busy at the bench of late tying a style of fly I have never tried before. The Klinkhammer. This is actually a river pattern but I am going to give them a try in the summer at my local loch....

See more of my flies at my recently created blog....

Very nice tie and photography.  Emerger?
Clan Chief

Yes it's fished as an emerger sitting in the surface film.

What insect is that tie imitating?
Clan Chief

Nothing in particular . I have been told to use it on my local loch when the mayfly are out

Those sometimes work the best, just a good searching pattern.  What sizes are you tying?

Like to see some of your other creations if you'd like to post some pictures.
Clan Chief

That particular example is tied in a Partridge Klinkhammer kook size 16. Which in real hook sizes is a size 12.
for rivers they are tied in smaller sizes such as 14' and 16's. Never tried them that small. I mainly fish Lochs.
Will post more pics of my flies if you wish. You can see some examples on my blog. The link to that is below.

Very nice. Thanks for the link to your blog. Some great photos there and look forward to reading more.  Quite the tying bench you have set up.

I'd be interested in hearing how you flyfish the Lochs.  Guessing spring and fall might be more productive as it is in our lakes?

May June then mid August and Sept are the best months of the season.
I use tradirional wets mostly.
June at my local loch see huge hatches of the Great Redsedge which we locally call The Big Sedge. That is my favourite time for fishing my local loch. Muddlers, brown palmers , g&h Sedge and cdc Fflies work when the sedge is on the Loch
