Angharad's Condition *May Upset Some* (Heavy Pic Load)

Here are some pictures taken of Angharads condition.

PLEASE be aware some are of wounds and may disturb.
All care and effort has been taken by Me & Struan Henderson a marvelious Vet to insure as much pain relife and comfort through these stages of the rare condion she has been fully explored and admistered for her wellbeing to date.
Angharad is unfortunatly still on a deadline so to speak unless test results confirm there is no underlying internal illness.
It is at this stage 50/50 Im afraid but we are trying to do everythink we can.
Below are some pictures to give you an idea of what I've been ranting on about (more on my facebook in group "SAVE ANGHARAD") Thanks for takeing the time to look and read my waffle!.

Angharad out for the count !
This photo is excellent to just show you her size against the nurse standing behind.

Picture taken by Struan
Removeing portions of dead skin that formed on her back due that where literally stuck on her, hideing the condition.

Picture taken by Struan
This picture is dureing her operation to take 4 skin samples.
Note the circular wound on Angharad's skin thats the 6mm "punch" used for the biopsy's.

Picture taken by Struan
A close up of the condition under the skin that had to be removed. And you can just make out a stich Struan put in after a skin sample has been taken.

Pictures taken now, with full hopeful advised by Expert Vets possible treatment to this condition. Seems to be working!

Above picture of her hopefully healing condition.

Me cleaning her condition from residue creams & sprays we are trying with a VERY mild solution of Iodine.(A spray normally used a a pain relife and soothing agent for exotic birds is then used also combined hours after with "Flamazine" cream)

Me injecting Angharad with 1ml (every 3 days) of the anti botic "Fortum"

I think hopefully everyone will agree from just the few (LOL!) pictures shown here their seems to be an slight improvement to the liesons she had fingers crossed!

Thanks for looking!

She looks really dehydrated, so dehydrated in fact it's almost as if the exaggerated folds in her skin may be compromising the peripheral circulation which in turn will exacerbate the skin condition, it is probably wise to try to practice aseptic handling techniques or risk yet another infection, poor thing I do hope she improves soon How on earth do you  get a snake to drink, can they be given a transfusion of fluids into the vent, such a difficult creature to treat, good luck to you.

Totally agree!!!
A few test results have arrived back and two indications of dehhydration have shown up to date and could quite possibly be an underlying kidney problem but we are waiting results on that at the moment.

She was been drinking excessively manly due to the anti botics she was then takeing we belive.
She had a MASSSIVE drink last night but she needs to keep it up!

:-)

Hi Jeni,

I think that you are doing exceptionally well with your care for Angharad.
I have only handled a couple of snakes (infact, I eaten more than I have handled), and so cannot comprehend what is really involved. But from what I have seen here (and in the emails and MSN messages that we have exchanged) that it is a very difficult task.

Jeni, you are doing sterling work, and I know that you will keep it up, providing the very best care that you can for Angharad. I can only sit here, and admire your efforts from a distance.

What is the ideal fluid electrolite balance for a snake, if we humans get dehydrated having things like sodium potassium and glucose added in small specific amounts help us to retain the fluids we take in, has your vet advised on the addition of anything in her water to help her retain the fluids and improve her electrolite balance, looking at her it must be out a fair bit, again an exotic creature so difficult to know what is or is not normal, it will be so wonderful to see her in full health again I'm sure she normally looks quite perfect in every way, do you have a photo of her when she was well , Yes my hat goes off to you for all your devotion to her- such hard work all of it, you deserve success I really hope you get it soon, and yes she does seem to be improveing. :-)

Poor dear, she does look debilitated; she must be feeling ghastly - but noticeably better in the last picture, absolutely definitely.
Congratulations to you and the vet and all fingers Xd here, as well.
Morlan75

Thanks all    it's great to have your support tbh.

For her water I am adding 1 scoop per 100ml of "Avipro Plus" (soluble probiotic, with fluid balance). She is drinking excessivly again today and in a way I'm glad she has been on the probiotic since her condition started and is eating ok also
Edited to say:-

Part of the test's came back to the indications of dehydration one to a balance of 5.8 calcium level in her... it should be 4.1 but she had just eaten so I am assumeing the levels would obviously be higher whilst she is digesting dinner? I have advised the Vet of this)

Thinking now kids may have been easier to have LOL!!!

"Thinking now kids may have been easier to have LOL!!!"

When my daughter burnt her leg, I was buying 1½ tubes of Flammazine a day and a huge box of gauze pads and the same of those non-stick, greasy ones every week. It cost nearly 1000€ after the state refund and the complementary health insurance refund – over 5000€ before the refunds. Children aren’t easier, or cheaper.....or as appreciative, frankly.

I took her to a healer in the end - that cured it really fast, unlike the hospital. Perhaps Angharad needs help from a magnétiseur! But I don't think there are many in England.
Morlan75

Wots a "magnétiseur"  :-? not a clue but to be honist if it's alternative remedy's I will give anything ago (combined of course with her med's at the moment) allways use them myself tbh  :-) .

That Flamazine cream tho I agree is expensive for actually what's in it blooming VAT on TOP!!! unreal I've looked for it cheaper on the net than rather ordering from the Vets but with P&P charges Im better off with the Vets I guess, it's £11.05 + VAT = £12.98 a 50gm tube as you can imagine a tube just does me a 3-4 days    needs must tho I guess.

What a traumatic time for you and Angharad

I am sending you hugs and her healing thoughts

Here's hoping the meds get her sorted soon
Morlan75

Disaster folks had nuff tbh just feel knumb and worn out

Had problems yesterday with Angharad she's become hypo sensitive badly to her cream and spray. Also this morning futher blisters have formed on her (whats left of it!) skin.

I've phoned Struan (the Vet) rather than email but he's doing an emergancy at the moment hopefully he will call me back as soon as he can.
Nothing I can do now I guess other than give her a jab later init

Oh, I'm sorry, Jeni, I didn't mean to mislead you. A magnétiseur is a magnetiser or healer, in France. It means a proper healer who's been born with that gift, which isn't magic and can't be learned, but is because they have a particular electro-magnetic frequency that can "switch on" people's healing. I've seen it working, often, in the most amazing way, but I can't kidnap one and post him to you and you can't bring Angharad to France.  There is a lady, on another forum, who does do healing with great success. I'll PM you her name and contact email, in case she's near you.

I did check to see whether I could buy Flammazine here and post it to you, as well, but it wouldn't work out much cheaper and would take ages.

Be strong Jeni and you will make the right decision
Morlan75

I is in bits, results back from Struan,  the mistry ov Angharad's results are now in Holland.

"associated with thermal burns but inconclusive"  rare condition they have took my samples from Angharad and sent em to Holland.
My Vet and myself know thermal burns are just not possible in her case.
Basically I know what im going to du now.

I've told my vet, he has suggested pain killer injections Im ok with that, but not at this stage it in my mind IT IS to late for this now. I've posted on youtube and facebook the hypo with creams. Ive been told now to disregard useing them now.

My husband is seriously mad at me because I am gna call it a day now.
In fact he's furious with me that "I want to kill her".
The "dead line" was 3 weeks and 2 weeks now into it I feel her pain and equality of life is being compramised.

What ever I feel this is now it my freind Lee has agreed to give me lift next week, much as my heart is breaking I feel this is now the best thing to do.
Myself and Lee are thinking of takeing Angharad wedensday for her last injection :'(.

I cannot thank everyone nuff for there comments and support (I appoligise for me spelling im dysexic)

I'm bit choked at mo so going to sign off here
