An update on our wildlife pond.

I took these pictures today of the wildlife pond that karen and I made last year. Its not quite as we want it yet but its getting there.

and here's the butterfly friendly garden that we also started last year.

and finally, just because i can, here's our giant gunnera. One day it will rule the world

Bodger, whats the solar cell for..........a water pump?

The ponds looking good mate.

It is indeed a solar pump Paul. We've had it for not quite a week.

Over night the pond suddenly formed a horrible looking orange coloured scum but thankfully the pump seems to be doing the job.

Looking great

Here's a further development update on our garden pond. Its really getting established now. Its a shame about the bright colour of the piping that feeds the stream feature but then we did get it for free.

We get a lot of enjoyment out of the pond, its proven to be one of best projects.

The gunnera is *quite* impressive! Nice looking pond and butterfly garden too.

Think of all the custard you'd need.

Yesterday in the heat of the day, we had a visitor to the pond.

We get Sparrows every day landing on the lily leaves and having a bath

Beautiful - the water level in our pond has drop tremendously over the past week or so. I also need to remove a vast amount of oxygenating weed, it didn't get done during the winter and then I left it too late because of the toad spawn and now it has really taken over.
