Amazon Trade in

I know that I spend plenty on the Amazon site  but they have started to email me to trade in some of the books that they know that I have bought - they pay the postage (or collect the books - I don't know which) and give you an Amazon gift certificate.
I'm going to have a sort out to see if there are any that I don't want to keep - you just have to enter a title, author or ISBN number and they will quote you a price

A price usually well below what you could sell them for on Amazon yourself so check what the books go for in used condition before you take the offer.

Naturally the price will be well below what you would make yourself - that will be Amazon's profit margin. But of course their profit margin saves you the hassle margin if you sell for yourself.

Swings and roundabouts.
