A small bonus?

The proposed planting of millions of trees in the UK to help combat the overiding environmental mess that we find ourselves in could come as a small bonus of our current situation. Lets hope that they actually get stuck in and do something. As you drive around the country you see lots of marginal land which woud be better suited for trees rather than its current use.

There's something very therapeutic about planting a tree.

Yeah but the Forestry Commission is involved and that suggests that any trees planted would have to earn hard cash as well as help the environment. They obviously see money in it not the environment.

Sorry to be so cynical.

If as a by product we get a cleaner greener environment, then I don't see a problem in that. by the very nature of trees, any investment would have to be a long term one.

More conifers then not to good for wild life.

The report says that the intention is to replant with broad leaf, which has got to be good news.

Intentions in political life are just vote catchers to die quietly after elections. As are reports. Seeing is believing.
