A question.

One of my neighbours is moving to a smaller place, so they have said I can take what ever I want from their garden.

They have the following,

gooseberry
strawberry
raspberry
rhubarb
black current
red current.

I only have the high beds I built in the summer, so I was wondering if there is any fruit bushes/plants that I should not plant next to each other.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Trying to picture your layout, position of beds.
Certainly I would take the gooseberries, black and red currents. Plant so you can get to the fruit without walking on the beds.
Raspberries, tend to walk, send out shoots/suckers under ground. I , to help control them, have a few sheets of poly, off old conservatory roofs. Twelve inch wide ( 0r more) x length.
Bury them into the soil, so an inch or so is above the soil. This does not completely stop them spreading, but certainly helps.
As for the Rhubarb and strawberries, mine are in their own small beds to suit the amount planted in the case of the strawbs.

4 ft square for the rhubarb, plenty of manure, they will love you..

Basically, I'd refuse none....

P.S. judging by your "wines"...it would be win, win, win..........

Thanks Diggers..........knew you would have an answer.

Good tip for raspberries........I have a couple of IBC tanks that I might cut in half and plant them in these, then they can run riot without over growing any thing else.

I do like fruit booze......how you getting on with "blow your pants off"?

I have a story to tell you, once you have tried it.
