A Pint of Maids water Please.

Not that you should need one, but heres another good reason to brew your own beer.

The thought of paying a pound a pint to the taxman must also be a big motivator.

Given that most bottled and draught beers used used to be around 3.5%, before the "make it stronger to make it more butch" sales pitches, maybe big brewers might start to concentrate on flavour and quality for a change....

When my DH used to work at an engineering company (Boulton Fabrications - remember them Bodger?) the old guys used to recommend 'Maiden's Water' for dermititis caused by the industrial strength thinners they used - but it wasn't beer!

My DH, having come out in an unsightly rash on his hands was advised to "Goo wom and ave thar lady pee on em!"

How long ago did he work at Boultons? Ask him if he recalls a guy called Charlie Finny? It might be a bit before his time.

I think it would be 1983 to 1986 he worked there Bodger, at the Baddeley Green factory.  He says yes he knew a 'Big Charley' - would that be him?
bodger

No. It would have had to have been longer ago than that Polly.

He loved his time there Bodger - great bunch of lads.  They went bankrupt, he got made redundant and he went to work for Steelite International in Middleport before the dreaded lurgy got him!
